About Dr. Aaron Norr
I’m Dr. Aaron Norr, a licensed clinical psychologist providing therapy for adults experiencing anxiety and related challenges. I offer telehealth services for clients in California and Washington, creating a safe and private space for therapy wherever you are. My approach combines the precision of evidence-based care with a compassionate, collaborative style focused on lasting results. My clinical work draws on years of experience in the Veterans Health Administration and academic research focused on improving the effectiveness of therapy through science and innovation. Along with helping patients, I hold current positions at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and University of Washington School of Medicine (UW), where my trainings and research on the latest therapies have received national recognition.

My Therapeutic Approach
Confidentiality & Trust
Maintaining confidentiality and building trust are fundamental to my therapy practice. Your privacy and personal information are handled with the utmost care and respect. Wherever you are in your process, whether you’re new to therapy or returning after prior work, we’ll
start at a pace that feels safe and productive. Together, we’ll use approaches to help you move past fear and avoidance, build resilience, and reconnect with what matters most.
Virtual therapy sessions
All therapy sessions are virtual, allowing my clients to have flexibility in their schedules while maintaining the utmost confidentiality. If you are located anywhere in California or Washington State, I can help reach your goals from the comfort of your own location.
Evidence-based care
I prioritize personalized care for every client, tailoring therapy sessions with evidence-based therapies.
My work is grounded in current research and over two decades of clinical experience in academic, medical and private practice settings. This means treatments that are practical, goal-focused, and actually drive the results you want to feel in your life. Together, we identify what’s keeping you stuck and use proven strategies to help you move forward with confidence and clarity. Sessions are active and collaborative, blending structure with compassion so you can make real progress.

Common Questions
Is virtual therapy effective?
Research shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person care for many conditions, including anxiety, panic, trauma, OCD, and depression. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship and the use of evidence-based approaches, not whether sessions happen over video or in an office. Virtual sessions also offer added benefits like convenience, privacy, and the comfort of meeting from your own space. My telehealth sessions are secure, structured, and highly interactive.
How Can I Schedule an Appointment?
Reaching out is often the hardest part, but it’s the first step toward real progress. If you’re ready to explore whether we might be a good fit, contact me directly. I personally respond to every inquiry. We will secure a convenient time for your initial consultation to accommodate your schedule.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently don't accept insurance, however, many clients use their out-of-network benefits to get reimbursed. I am happy to provide a detailed superbill each month that you can submit for reimbursement from your health plan. Coverage varies by plan, so it’s helpful to call your insurance provider and ask about your out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy services. If you have questions about what to ask or how to submit claims, I’m happy to walk you through the process and support you in getting any reimbursement available through your plan.
